 Vanguard 1: The 1st Solar power Satellite Launching date - March 17, 1958 Power mode - Solar electric power  launching vehicle - Three stage launching vehicle                       IMAGE COURTESY- Wikipedia   It was the fourth Artificial satellite in the earth's orbit after Sputnik 1, Sputnik2, Explorers1. It was an American satellite. Satellite lost its contact with the headquarters in 1964 but till today it is orbiting Earth.  Purpose of launching - It was launched for testing a three-stage launching vehicle and the effects of space environment on the satellite along with the effects of Earth's orbit.

 Research: The mass of a black hole is 4.4 times the mass of sun|Binary systems|black hole NASA  and European Space Agency(ESA) for the first time measured the mass of a black hole moving in space with the one and only The Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Until now the mass of a black hole determined on the basis of position of binary systems or galaxies. Large black holes were belived to occur only with companion stars , but for the first time a single black hole has occured .  The discovered black hole is believed to be about 80 light years away from our galaxy. Earlier it was estimated that it is 5000 light years away. Stars increase its mass by interacting with another star or its comapnion star. When the mass increased it explodes called Supernova.  Remants called as 'neutron star'.
