According to this movie ISRO was going to launch GSLV(geo-synchronous satellite launching vehicle) but it failed due to booster "Technical anomaly was observed in the cryogenic stage and the mission couldn't be accomplished". In this movie a scientist named Rupak Desai worked in NASA for 10 years said we have to asked for help to NASA fot this failure but a lead scientist named RAKESH DHAWAN of ISRO said "if we would go to NASA for each and every small of big problems the we would become SATYANASA" and Rakesh Dhawan was transferred for another mission "the mission MARS" which seems to be impossible to all scientists working in ISRO. A female scientist named TARA SHINDE SUGGESTED "A TEL-POORI FORMULA" used in all Indian kitchens everyday to save the fuel{lpg} she suggested that when this same concept used in this mission with the help of PSLV{polar satellite launching vehicle} but the capacity of PSLV fuel reservoir is very low so for solving this scientists used the "tel-poori concept" of Indian kitchens.
According to this concept PSLV can be used to sent our satellite to earth's orbit once fit reached to earth's orbit and comes at perigee point* it will be fired and will move to an orbit far from this orbit this same formula will be used in repeated manner 4 to 5 times and when it will be in the higher orbit enough far from earth this its speed is enough high that it can escape the earth's gravitational field when with the help of this we will send it to mars orbit will less fuel. As we know ISRO has very small budget compared to NASA but this was a small hurdle to Indian scientists they never fails they use "JUGAD" for their simple hurdles. firstly the budget was decided to 800 crore but the government didn't provided extra funds for this mission so the director refused to replace this 800 crore fund from any other mission to "mission Mangal" so it has to be abort. After some days in the next meeting of ISRO directors Rakesh Dhawan convinced the director to make this mission successful and make INDIA the first country to send their satellite to mars in the first attempt. The other countries tried several attempts to sent their satellites to mars orbit but didn't succeeded in their first attempts as according to Wikipedia, NASA made two attempts to reach Mars.
Perigee and Apogee points of Earth's elliptical orbit
This mission has now another problem that it can't be more than 1337.2 kg so all instruments that will be used in the satellite should be of less weight because it has to be launched by PSLV.
Also for solving the problem of low weight should have also use less fuel so the ISRO scientists made small change in the design of satellite. They used the antennae of the satellite as the sail of the ship which face the solar radiation pressure and make its own speed. For fixing the antennae there should be a material which will send signals and have a ability to face the asteroids in its path to mars so they used wolverine material cloth for antennae this wolverine material have the ability to self-repair so when it will hit by asteroid it can repair itself.
Solar Radiation Pressure
Now finally the Mars satellite was ready to launch on 5 November 2013 but the sky was wholly covered with the clouds and heavy rainfall outside so there was only one option ISRO scientists have to wait for the rainfall to stop. Finally the rainfall and storm in the bay of Bengal stopped and now PSLV was ready to launch. PSLV lifted-off from the first launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre {Sri-harikota Range SHAR}, Andhra Pradesh at 09:08 UTC on 5 November 2013. As it was decided to sent the satellite using low fuel by using "the tel-poori concept" when it was on the perigee point of the Earth's elliptical orbit it uses the fuel and fired to reach the next orbit far from the previous orbit and using the same formula for four to five times its has enough velocity to escape it from the Earth's gravitational field, then due to a solar-storm its speed increased which saved it fuel and power and finally on 24 September 2014 at 02:10 UTC it entered the Mars orbit with 2.4 kg of extra fuel.
On 2 October 2022, it was reported that the orbiter had lost its communications with ISRO's headquarters after entering a seven-hour eclipse in April 2022 that it was not designed for this. The following day, ISRO released a statement that all the attempts to revive the MOM {Mangalyaan} had failed and its was officially declared dead.
