Hubble Space Telescope (HST)

Hubble Space Telescope (HST)

Launched by - NASA on 24 April 1990.

Budget  - According to Nasa , HST has cost approximately $16 billion from the beginning in 1977 and this doesn't includes the cost of space shuttle and servicing .

Size
13.2m long and 4.2 m wide at its back
and all instruments in this telescope attached here.

Weight -
12,246 kg or 27,000 pounds we can assume its size and its weight nearly comparable to a mini bus or a mini truck.

Used technologies -
  ■ Advanced camera for surveys(ACS)
  ■ Cosmis origins spectrograph (COS)
  ■ Corrective optics space telescope axial replacement(COSTAR)
  ■ Faint object camera(FOC)
  ■ Faint object spectrograph (FOS)
  ■ Fine guidance sensor(FGS)
  ■ Goddard high resolution spectrograph (GHRS/HRS)
  ■ High speed photometer(HSP)
  ■ Near infrared camera and multi- object spectrometer (NICMOS)
  ■ Space telescope imaging spectrograph (STIS)
  ■ Wide field and planatary camera(WFPC)
  ■ Wide field and planetary camera 2 (WFPC2)

Which lights can hubble telescope see? -
The Hubble space telescope mainly sees visible light ( the 7 rainbow colours VIBGYOR ) as well as it can also identify some infrared and ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

Aim of mission -
Mainly it was built to study the cosmic objects which are a small difficult when studied from ground or Earth. The Hubble space telescope also has facilitation to see ultraviolet radiation and infrared rays so we could also see that objects which our eyes can't usually see.

Source of Power -
Hubble telescope uses solar energy for its normal functioning. It has two solar plates or wings that captures the solar energy and covert it into electricity and finally the source of power for the telescope.

Hubble Space Telescope (HST)

Does it revolves the Earth -
yes, it rotates around the Earth and but is not possible to see earthly objects from the Hubble space telescope. It completes 15 orbits per day, and orbits every 95 minutes around earth's atmosphere at a heigjt of 340 miles (547 km). It is not possible to captures objects on earth from the telescope because of its high speed of 17,500 miles or 27,300 km/h.

what is the path that Hubble telescope follows -
hubble space telescope is tilted at 28.5 degrees to the equator and orbits the Earth with maximum speed of 8km/sec.

》》The Hubble Space Telescope(HST) was launched into orbit in 1990 and has been continuously observing the universe ever since. It is the only observatory that can peer back over 13 billion years ago and observe the formation of galaxies, stars, planets, and life itself. This amazing machine is capable of seeing objects that are too dim to see from Earth's surface.

》》Hubble is a space telescope operated by NASA. It was built between 1989 and 1993 and cost $200 million. Its purpose was to study dark energy and dark matter. In 2009, Hubble was declared 'functionally obsolete' due to its age and inability to perform some tasks.

》》The Hubble Space Telescope is one of NASA's two great accomplishments. First launched into space in 1990, this amazing instrument has been used to make discoveries that have changed how we view our Universe. This telescope was designed to take clear pictures from outer space, which can only be achieved if a telescope operates at extremely cold temperatures. The Hubble uses its own propulsion system to keep itself stable while taking astronomical photos.

Here are the 5 quick point everyone  to know about the Hubble space telescope(HST) -

1. Hubble Space Telescope (HST) has discovered over 100 planets around other stars.

 2. Hubble Space Telescope (HST) taken some amazing images of our universe that we cannot capture in any other way.

 3. Hubble Space Telescope (HST) observe birth of stars, death of stars, galaxies millions and billions kilometeres away   .

 4. Hubble Space Telescope (HST) uses solar power for its operating

 5. Hubble Space Telescope (HST) has made nearly 1 million observations .

Exoplanets holds a better survival than Earth

Exoplanets holds a better survival than Earth ■Exoplanets are those planets that have a rocky surface like Earth, Mars etc. and found outside our solar system.  We have heard a term SUPER - EARTH A Super earth is  an extra solar planet with a mass higher than our earth but lower mass than " ice giants" such as Uranus, Neptune. examples of super earth are COROT - 7b{ICARUS}, GJ1214b{SHESHA}, KEPLER - 440b. ■  Reasearchers had already discovered many planets similar to our mother EARTH but very recent studies has opened up new mysterious facts revealed "these SUPER - EARTHS full of Hydrogen and Helium. Research: The mass of a black hole is 4.4 times the mass of sun | Binary systems | black hole - ISC

Research: The mass of a black hole is 4.4 times the mass of sun|Binary systems|black hole NASA  and European Space Agency(ESA) for the first time measured the mass of a black hole moving in space with the one and only The Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Until now the mass of a black hole determined on the basis of position of binary systems or galaxies. Large black holes were belived to occur only with companion stars , but for the first time a single black hole has occured .  The discovered black hole is believed to be about 80 light years away from our galaxy. Earlier it was estimated that it is 5000 light years away. Stars increase its mass by interacting with another star or its comapnion star. When the mass increased it explodes called Supernova.  Remants called as 'neutron star'. When remanant is bery large it is called "black hole".  According to scientists the mass of a neutron star is between 1.6 to 4.4 times the mass of sun. The discoveries till n...
